[ACADEMIA] May 27th, 2016 – Vaccaro-Incisa invited as Visiting Research Scholar at Melbourne Law School

May 27th, 2016: between June and September, 2016, Prof. Vaccaro-Incisa will be hosted as Visiting Research Scholar at the Law School of Melbourne University, one of the finest institution worldwide in many fields, including international economic law.

Working with Prof. Jurgen Kurtz, Director of the International Investment Law Program of the Institute for International Law and the Humanities, he will focus on completing some research endeavors and offering a seminar series on the policy and practice in international investment law of the People’s Republic of China and ASEAN Member States.

5 maggio 2016 – Lo Studio ha assistito “Y-40 – the deep joy“, la più profonda piscina al mondo, e l’ingegnere Emanuele Boaretto, suo ideatore, nella stipula degli accordi per la costruzione e gestione della piscina più profonda d’asia.

Y 40Per lo Studio, le trattative sono dirette dal Prof. Vaccaro-Incisa.

Sono state nel frattempo avviate le trattative riservate per la stipula di un contratto relativo ad un progetto analogo nell’Unione europea.

[ACADEMIA] Apr. 22nd, 2016 – Presiding a panel at the Investment Law Conference of Bucerius Law School

Apr. 22nd, 2016. Prof. Vaccaro-Incisa has been invited to preside the panel on Foundations of International Investment Law at the Bucerius Law Journal Conference on International Investment Law & Arbitration organized by Bucerius Law School (Hamburg, Germany).

Prof. Vaccaro-Incisa’s panel will comprise the following topics and speakers:

  • Rethinking the Relevance of Customary International Law to Issues of Nationality in Investment Treaty Arbitration (Javier García Olmedo)
  • International Norms, a Defense in Investment Treaty Arbitration? (Dafina Atanasova)
  • Investment Claims and Annexation of Territory: Where General International Law and Investment Law Collide (Sebastian Wuschka)

Moreover, two of the three panelists have been awarded the “King & Spalding scholarships” for the two best abstracts submitted for the conference.

Mar. 28th – Apr. 2nd, 2016 – Attending the 110th ASIL Annual Meeting

Prof. Vaccaro Incisa will attend the 110th Annual Meeting of the American Society of International Law, held in Washington D.C. (US) due on Mar. 28th-Apr. 2nd.

He will also serve as Judge for the International Rounds of the 57th edition of the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition.

Mar. 16th, 2016 – Participating to the UNCTAD Expert Meeting on Investment, Innovation & Entrepreneurship

Feb. 25th, 2016. Prof. Vaccaro-Incisa has been invited to participate to the next meeting of Experts on International Investment Agreements organized by the United Nations Commission for Trade and Development (UNCTAD), held at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva, on Mar. 16th-17th.

The Firm is pleased to note that Prof. Vaccaro-Incisa’s participation has been greeted by UNCTAD with the following words:

Feb. 2nd, 2016: The book review of Prof. Vaccaro-Incisa on “Corruption – Economic Analysis and International Law” (M. Arnone & L. Borlini, Edward Elgar Publishing, 2014) has been published on the latest issue of the Leiden Journal of International Law (n. 29, 2016, pp. 275–283).

[ACADEMIA] Jan. 4th, 2016 – Vaccaro-Incisa appointed Professor of International Law at IESEG Paris

Jan. 4th, 2016. The Firm is proud to announce that Dr. Vaccaro-Incisa has been appointed Assistant Professor of International Law, and permanent faculty member, at IESEG School of Management, in Paris, world-top 20 institution in its category and among France’s best and most appreciated schools. He will join IESEG on Feb. 1st, 2016.

While retaining his practice of law on selected international legal issues, and carrying out the academic research in the domains of public international law and international investment law, Dr. Vaccaro-Incisa will contribute to the establishment of the Double Degree in International Business Law, that will be inaugurated in Sept. 2016.

[PRO BONO] Oct. 20th, 2015 – Vaccaro-Incisa invited to speak at the conference ‘Europa 2020’ in Padua

Oct. 20th, 2015. Dr. Vaccaro-Incisa will speak as panelist (in Italian) at the conference ‘Europa 2020‘ on the topic ‘Investment and immigrants: who decides what in the EU?‘.

The event is organized by the Italian cultural association ‘Filofia di vita’ and will be held in the elegant setting of the ‘Paladin room’ of XVI century ‘Palazzo Moroni‘, seat of Padua’s municipal Council (IT).

The other event speakers will be Mr. Giampaolo Scarante (inter alia, former Italian plenipotentiary in Turkey and Greece), and Ms. Isabella Chiodi (IBM Vice President).
