CETA TallinOct. 27th, 2016 – Prof. Vaccaro-Incisa will speak at the annual meeting of the Global Legal Network of Jurists organized at the Tallin University of Technology around the theme “Impact of Legal Risks on the Effectiveness of EU Law”.

Prof. Vaccaro-Incisa will present his preliminary research findings on the evolution of the EU investment treaty practice, between arbitral decisions and a changing political environment.

  • Prof. Francesco Paolo Casavola, Former Member and President of the Italian Constitutional Court; fomer Vice-President of the Badinter Commission;
  • Prof. Giovanni Verde, former Deputy-Chair of the High Council of the Judiciary (Consiglio Superiore della Magistratura);
  • Prof. Tommaso Edoardo Frosini, Professor of Constitutional Law at UNISOB, amongst the drafter of the proposed constitutional amendments.

Aug. 29, 2016 – The International Graduate Union has published, in the issue of September 2016 (p. 21-23), an interview with Prof. Vaccaro-Incisa covering his dual academic and practitioner legal career.

Within the framework of the prestigious Laureate Program in International Law, on Aug. 4-5, Dr. Vaccaro-Incisa has been selected to participate, along some of the world’s authority on the matter (Harvard’s Prof. Modirzadeh, Yale’s Prof. March, Melbourne’s Prof. Orford), to the roundtable on Humanitarianism and the Transformation of International Law.

Luis-9142He will share his research findings on the relationship between the principles of territorial integrity and self-determination in international law, in the context of post-Charter undemocratic border adjustments within federal unions.

May 27th, 2016: between June and September, 2016, Prof. Vaccaro-Incisa will be hosted as Visiting Research Scholar at the Law School of Melbourne University, one of the finest institution worldwide in many fields, including international economic law.

Working with Prof. Jurgen Kurtz, Director of the International Investment Law Program of the Institute for International Law and the Humanities, he will focus on completing some research endeavors and offering a seminar series on the policy and practice in international investment law of the People’s Republic of China and ASEAN Member States.

May 5, 2016 – In advising “Y-40 – the deep joy”, the world’s deepest pool, and his visionary creator, civil engineer Mr. Emanuele Boaretto, the Firm recently concluded a package of negotiations for the construction and management of the deepest pool on the Asian continent.

Negotiations for a second outstanding project, within the EU, are under way.

April 29, 2016 – Prof. Vaccaro-Incisa has been invited to participate in a young career forum in Padua, among other professionals and entrepreneurs. The forum, named “Lezioni di Futuro” and devoted to senior high-school students, is organized by the Association AIDDA, with the endorsement of Confindustria Padova (Federation of the Employers of Padua) and Comune di Padova (Municipality of Padua), programma “Generazione Merito”.

Apr. 22nd, 2016. Prof. Vaccaro-Incisa has been invited to preside the panel on Foundations of International Investment Law at the Bucerius Law Journal Conference on International Investment Law & Arbitration organized by Bucerius Law School (Hamburg, Germany).

Prof. Vaccaro-Incisa’s panel will comprise the following topics and speakers:

  • Rethinking the Relevance of Customary International Law to Issues of Nationality in Investment Treaty Arbitration (Javier García Olmedo)
  • International Norms, a Defense in Investment Treaty Arbitration? (Dafina Atanasova)

Moreover, two of the three panelists have been awarded the “King & Spalding scholarships” for the two best abstracts submitted for the conference.
